Hoarder Update!

I am SO behind in my reviewing and I'm trying my best to catch up but while out and about today I stopped by our local Hospice Thrift Store where I volunteered for about two hours stocking the books on the shelves. I had to look at the books to determine what shelf they would go on- this store organizes the book by genre (kinda. small harlequins/shilloutes on one bookcase, bigger romances in another, suspense, mystery and war on another case, etc.) instead of doing something like our Goodwill that just shoves the books on the shelves.-I don't buy books from Goodwill unless I can help it. I can buy 8 paperback books at the Hospice Store for the same price as 4 at the Goodwill. Anyways, while I was looking at these books I put some aside that were my grandma's type of book or looked really interesting. Then when I had finished stacking the shelves, I waled out the store $4.50 poorer and 9 books richer! I thought I'd take this time to tell y'all I might need an intervention and to show y'all what I got!

- I got three Love Inspired romance books for my Grandmother

- Esther: A Woman of Strength and Dignity by Charles R. Swindol

- Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg-- love this book!

- The Rustler by Linda Lael Miller

-Georgia- Love is Just Peachy in Four Complete Novels with

Heaven's Child by Gina Fields
On Wings of Love by Brenda Knight Graham
Restore the Joy by Sara Mitchell and
A Match Made in Heaven by Kathleen Yapp

- How Great Thou Art: 365 Reasons Why God is Awesome by Steve Halliday and William Travis

Triumphant Hearts - In four complete novels love is the strongest remnant after the battle  with:
Remnant of Light by Taylor James
Remnant of Forgiveness by Sally Laity
Remnant of Grace by Susan Downs and
Renmant of Victory Jeri Odell

And Tuesday I got more books still! I got:

- The Other Side of the River: A Story of Two Towns, A Death, And America's Dilemma by Alex Kotlowitz

- What I Did Wrong: A Novel by John Weir

- A Grain of Wheat by Ngugi (the picture from Goodreads and shows the edition I got, the link will take you its Amazon page though)

- The Wedding: A Novel by Dorothy West

George & Rue by George Elliott Clarke

- The True and Outstanding Adventures of the Hunt Sisters by Elisabeth Robinson

- The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley

Whew! That was my version of In My Mailbox only without adding any books I might have won recently or the books that I have waiting for my reviewers eye upon them! What do you think of my list? I think these books all look pretty amazing even if I won't be able to get to them for a while yet! :)

  1. Hi Alex, I saw your blog mentioned on Joy's Book Blog and thought I'd drop by to say hello. A great post, it gives a great indication of the type of reader you are. Nice to have met you, I've enjoyed my visit, PW.
